Design, implement, and maintain systems and APIs supporting SimpliSafe’s customer experience platform, privacy compliance tooling, and cross-organization engineering initiatives. Build Node.js microservices and production web applications, work with AWS and SQL/NoSQL databases, develop frontend experiences, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across engineering teams to deliver scalable improvements.

Supports the design, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of security-focused electronic products under senior engineer guidance. Collaborates with mechanical, firmware, industrial design, sourcing, product management, suppliers, and manufacturers. Performs defined engineering tasks, assists with design reviews, requirements documentation, risk identification, and prototype testing while developing expertise in embedded systems, sensors, RF technologies, and manufacturing processes.

Designs and develops security-focused consumer products from concept through mass production. Responsibilities include electrical and system-level design, prototype testing, validation planning, design reviews, risk mitigation, requirements development, and collaboration with mechanical, firmware, sourcing, product, and manufacturing teams. The role supports low-power battery designs, embedded interfaces, RF connectivity, and manufacturing optimization, with travel to China-based manufacturing partners one to three times annually.
