Shipfinex
Making ship ownership investable, blockchain-backed maritime assets, verified, built for institutional retail investors.
Ship ownership has always been one of the most capital-intensive asset classes in the world — historically reserved for shipowners, large funds, and institutions with the balance sheets to buy, insure, and operate vessels outright. Shipfinex changes the entry point into that asset class, not the fundamentals underneath it.
Every vessel listed on the platform is held through a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), independently verified before listing, and represented on-chain as Maritime Asset Tokens (MATs) — giving investors direct economic exposure to a specific, working ship rather than a diversified shipping company or fund. Returns are tied to real charter revenue the vessel generates in global trade, not to token price speculation.
For individual investors, that means fractional ship ownership starting at accessible minimums, with standard KYC verification, transparent vessel-level data, and no prior shipping or blockchain experience required.
For institutions — banks, family offices, funds, and other regulated investment vehicles — Shipfinex is extending that same infrastructure into an entity-based model: multiple authorised users, internal approval controls, deeper disclosures, and full auditability, without imposing retail-style suitability recommendations on decisions institutions are equipped to make themselves.
