Leads a team of Financial Crime Specialists responsible for transaction monitoring, screening, alert management, CDD and EDD. Owns workflow, quality, SLAs, backlog and complex-case escalations while coaching staff and strengthening procedures. Uses MI and trend analysis to identify risks and capacity issues, supports continuous improvement and automation, and guides the team through transition to the FCOP operating model. Partners with business, operations, investigations and second-line stakeholders to maintain robust financial crime controls.

Owns internal communications across Shawbrook’s business, including change communications, business updates, employee channels, all-staff calls, content calendars, and stakeholder engagement. The role develops proactive communication plans, translates business activity into engaging colleague stories, aligns internal messaging with external narratives, and measures channel effectiveness. It partners closely with HR and functional leaders while evolving digital communication channels and formats across multiple hubs and brands.

Leads financial sponsors lending activity, structuring and executing leveraged finance transactions for UK SME acquisitions and growth. Responsibilities include financial analysis, modeling, credit papers, due diligence, risk management, legal documentation, client negotiation, business origination, relationship management, and mentoring junior staff. The role also supports regulatory compliance, governance, and collaboration across operations, credit, finance, and corporate banking.
