Supervise and monitor juveniles in the Juvenile Intake and Assessment System and Intermediate Intervention Program. Maintain facility safety, conduct routine inspections, document incidents, and collaborate on personalized treatment plans. Provides legal advice and representation to county government under the County Attorney’s direction. Responsibilities include researching municipal and government law, drafting contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents, supporting hearings and trials, interpreting laws and regulations, advising county officials, and handling potential juvenile, felony, misdemeanor, and traffic prosecutions. The role requires Kansas bar licensure or registration for the next bar exam, strong legal research and writing skills, confidentiality, analytical ability, and professional judgment.

Reserve Firefighters respond to wildfires, accidents, medical emergencies, and other calls in rural areas. Duties include operating firefighting equipment and vehicles, conducting fire prevention education, maintaining readiness, and participating in training exercises. This is an on-call position requiring irregular hours, physical fitness, teamwork, a valid driver’s license, and Seward County, Kansas residency. Firefighting Training 1 and IS-100, IS-700, and IS-800 must be completed within one year of hire.

Provides emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings by responding to calls, assessing patients, administering medications and basic or advanced life support, safely transporting patients, and documenting care. The role requires AEMT and CPR certifications, a driver's license, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure, outdoors, in emergency vehicles, and during long shifts or weekends.
