Provides legal leadership and daily oversight for SECU’s legal department, supporting the Chief Legal Officer and advising management on contracts, regulatory matters, litigation, policies, complaints, and compliance risks. The role researches legal developments, reviews and drafts documents, manages outside counsel, supports organizational initiatives, and partners with compliance, risk, BSA, and credit union stakeholders. It also supervises legal staff and promotes legal and compliance awareness across the organization.

Processes and investigates ACH transaction disputes, stop payments, EFTs, and government reclamations. Resolves member escalations, prepares dispute correspondence, processes Federal Reserve and EPN adjustments, and supports reconciliation and settlement. The role requires compliance with NACHA, Federal regulations, BSA, OFAC, the USA PATRIOT Act, Fair Lending, and information security requirements. It also supports ACH testing, audit requests, ODFI follow-ups, and cross-department issue resolution.

Manage organizational projects from inception through implementation for SECU’s Transformation and Optimization division. Responsibilities include creating project charters and plans, coordinating budgets, requirements, testing, governance, and implementation, tracking milestones, managing risks and issues, reporting progress to senior leaders, and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance. The role requires cross-divisional collaboration, stakeholder communication, documentation, and adherence to project management frameworks.
