Seattle Art Museum Benefits Overview

Interns will gain professional research experience with Seattle Art Museum's East Asian art collection and work closely with curators on exhibitions.

Perform examination, documentation, research, treatment, and long-term preservation of easel paintings in the museum collection. Manage conservation projects, prepare works for loan and display, assist preservation planning and emergency response, supervise interns, courier at-risk works as needed, and communicate findings to colleagues and the public.

Designs and facilitates inclusive, hands-on art workshops for multigenerational museum audiences; develops lesson plans, materials lists, demos, and displays; trains volunteers; assists with event setup/breakdown; attends meetings and trainings; maintains shared schedules and equity-focused engagement practices.
