Designs and governs Azure cloud hosting architectures for Scottish Water’s business-critical systems. Responsibilities include IaaS and PaaS architecture, networking, identity, security, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, migration strategy, reusable platform patterns, architectural assurance, and implementation guidance. The role collaborates with platform, network, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, delivery, vendor, and partner teams to deliver secure, resilient, supportable, and cost-effective cloud services.

Lead the modernisation of Scottish Water’s application estate, defining architecture standards, roadmaps, and secure cloud-ready patterns. Provide oversight for major line-of-business applications and collaborate with cloud, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, platform, and business teams. Mentor developers in .NET engineering, DevOps, testing, CI/CD, secure development, APIs, microservices, event-driven design, and serverless technologies. Influence technical direction and deliver scalable, resilient, maintainable applications.
