Coordinates occupational safety and Workers’ Compensation activities, including workplace inspections, hazard correction tracking, incident investigations, claims intake and administration, safety program support, ergonomic assessments, workplace violence prevention, and employee training. The role serves as a technical safety resource and travels between San Diego Humane Society locations as needed.

Supervise behavior and training staff, coordinate animal behavior assessments and intervention plans, oversee training and enrichment programs, support transitions into adoption and new homes, review cases, and provide recommendations including humane euthanasia when necessary. The role also includes staff coaching, performance management, cross-department collaboration, and animal care coordination.

Provide clinical support to veterinarians by administering treatments and anesthetics, assisting with exams, surgeries and emergency procedures within RVT scope, and training new staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality shelter and medical care.

Supervise day-to-day foster program operations across Escondido and Oceanside campuses. Manage and schedule Foster Specialists, provide hands-on animal care and training, monitor animal health and recommend pathways including euthanasia when appropriate, maintain program standards and cleanliness, build relationships with fosters to maximize lifesaving, and ensure staff development and compliance with policies.
