Supports Council finance systems and process improvement by gathering requirements, analyzing controls and data quality, coordinating vendors and technical teams, and assisting with system design, testing, implementation, training, and change management. The role ensures financial solutions align with accounting requirements, governance standards, policies, and strategic objectives.

Provides administrative and business support for council regulatory, licensing, and compliance functions. Responsibilities include maintaining regulatory databases and records, coordinating administrative processes, supporting reporting, assisting managers and team leaders, responding to customer and stakeholder enquiries, and helping ensure statutory obligations and legislative timeframes are met across environmental health, licensing, animal control, bylaw compliance, and resource management.

Maintain and improve the council’s IT infrastructure, networks, virtual environments, and cloud services. The Systems Engineer will resolve critical issues, optimize system performance, support secure and reliable technology operations, and help design future systems. The role works collaboratively across organizational teams to deliver practical technology solutions that support community services, while valuing Te Arawa partnership, te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and bicultural practices.
