Obtains prior authorizations from payers, verifies insurance and benefits, gathers clinical and patient information, updates EMR records, estimates patient costs, supports appeals, identifies Medicare ABN needs, and coordinates with clinical, financial, and business office teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Assists therapists and athletic trainers with patient transfers, mobility, preparation, positioning, routine treatments, and equipment use. Transports patients, maintains treatment areas, disinfects equipment, manages supplies, handles communications and billing-related records, protects patient information, and supports departmental procedures and performance improvement activities.

Schedules patient and referral appointments, greets patients, handles calls, obtains insurance authorizations, updates medical and financial records, collects payments, manages referral documentation, and supports patient registration and check-out. The role also maintains records, reconciles cash and electronic payments, communicates with patients and clinical staff, and provides professional front-office service.
