Attend council meetings, identify important local stories, build contacts, write features, break exclusives, and hold local authorities accountable. The role also involves engaging local audiences through digital and social media channels and occasionally attending meetings outside normal hours.

Manage a high-volume employee relations caseload, including complex cases, appeals, disciplinary and grievance proceedings, consultations, and tribunal preparation. Advise managers through restructures and organisational change, maintain compliant HR policies, coach leaders, and collaborate with the wider People team on HR improvement projects.

Lead a video team producing original breaking-news content for websites, YouTube, and social platforms. Develop and pitch video ideas, shoot and edit content, present on camera, commission original work, and optimize videos for engagement and audience growth. Use analytics, competitor analysis, and platform trends to guide editorial decisions while ensuring compliance with media law, copyright standards, and editorial guidelines. The role is office-based in Liverpool, includes team leadership, hands-on production, weekend work, and flexible hours.
