Teams at Rain (make rain)

Build and operate security automation across AWS, applications, company systems, aircraft, and field operations. Responsibilities include secure infrastructure, identity and access controls, application security, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, CI/CD security checks, threat detection, incident response, device security, and secure remote communications. The role partners with engineering and field teams to reduce manual work and protect scientific and operational systems.

Own embedded firmware for cloud-seeding vehicles, including flight controllers, power systems, sensors, payloads, board bring-up, hardware integration, communication protocols, safety and recovery behavior, testing, release workflows, and field support. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and flight operations teams to deliver reliable vehicle systems from architecture through deployment.

Lead electrical system architecture and hardware development for UAS, payload, and sensing platforms. Design PCBs, prototypes, power distribution, sensor interfaces, and communication modules using Altium. Lead board bring-up, testing, documentation, manufacturing handoff, and cross-functional integration. Develop embedded systems and low-level drivers, mentor engineers, and conduct technical reviews. Preferred experience includes high-power systems, UAV flight testing, power electronics, batteries, flight controllers, and RF systems.
