PsiQuantum Benefits Overview

Designs complex optomechanical and optoelectronic subsystem assemblies for quantum computing systems. Responsibilities include translating requirements into designs, rapid prototyping, owning designs through production, creating process documentation and BOMs, conducting FMEA and risk analyses, performing basic structural and thermal analyses, and maintaining engineering revision control. The role requires collaboration across cryogenics, optics, electronics, and manufacturing teams, with strong emphasis on manufacturability, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and precision design.

Analyze large-scale superconducting nanowire single-photon detector data and film metrology results, apply microscopic superconductivity theory and device models, and design experiments to improve SNSPD materials and performance. Collaborate with materials science, fabrication, testing, and layout teams to support scalable, high-temperature devices and future design tape-outs for fault-tolerant photonic quantum computers.

Build predictive, system-level models of photonic and electronic quantum systems. Translate component nonidealities into quantum performance metrics, develop reduced-order abstractions, validate models against hardware measurements, quantify uncertainty, and drive model closure. Create modular Python simulation software, documented APIs, model libraries, and reproducible workflows. Partner with architecture, validation, design, photonics, electronics, controls, calibration, and systems engineering teams to support trade studies and design decisions.
