Manage end-to-end laboratory operations for a quantum energy storage startup. Responsibilities include procuring and maintaining equipment, managing chemical and hazardous-material inventories, scheduling and calibrating shared instruments, maintaining records, and leading safety and compliance protocols. The role supports scientists and technicians by ensuring experiments can be conducted efficiently, safely, and reliably in an onsite laboratory environment.

Develop the theoretical foundations of quantum energy storage, derive testable predictions, guide experiments, distinguish genuine effects from artifacts, and help establish the company’s scientific roadmap. The role partners closely with founders and translates advanced theory into practical experimental direction. It is an onsite position in Torrance, California, focused on fundamental research in quantum thermodynamics and related physics.

Develop and maintain embedded firmware for quantum energy storage control and safety electronics. Implement real-time control loops, safety interlocks, data acquisition, sensor integration, actuation, and board bring-up. Collaborate with electrical engineers and scientists on hardware-software integration and experimental instrumentation. Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis of hardware-software issues in an onsite startup environment.
