Responsibilities include creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings, releasing bills of materials, ensuring standards compliance, managing suppliers and manufacturing partners, supporting installations and repairs, coordinating launch schedules, conducting design reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires extensive robotics integration experience, hands-on mechanical aptitude, SolidWorks and AutoCAD expertise, and willingness to travel internationally and to the Calgary factory.

Support installation, troubleshooting, repair, validation, and optimization of robotic manufacturing systems, PLCs, motion controls, sensors, and automation equipment. Diagnose failures, improve uptime and OEE, execute calibration and testing protocols, and collaborate with controls engineers, technicians, production teams, and robot operators. The role spans robotic, electrical, mechanical, and software systems in off-site construction manufacturing.

Lead mechanical design and integration of robotic automation systems for manufacturing. Create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, specifications, and bills of materials; ensure standards compliance; manage suppliers and manufacturing partners; support equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs; develop technical documentation and build schedules; lead design reviews; and mentor junior engineers and designers.

Lead development of robotic simulators, motion planning and collision-checking (ROS 2 / MoveIt2), and perception components (object detection, pose/point-cloud processing). Write production-quality C++/Python with unit/integration tests, debug software-hardware integration, set architecture and testing standards, and mentor junior engineers.

Lead design, development, evaluation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of robotic manufacturing systems. Diagnose and repair hardware, sensors, drivers and software, promote safety compliance, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve automation and controls for factory operations.

Develop and maintain simulation scenes, implement motion-planning and collision-checking in ROS2/MoveIt2, build perception components for detection and point-cloud processing, write tested C++/Python code, debug software-hardware integration, and participate in code reviews, CI, and agile practices in onsite R&D/production facilities.

Develop and optimize full-stack software and algorithms for robotic manufacturing systems. Design, implement, test, and integrate AI-driven software, run experiments to improve performance, participate in design and code reviews, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
