Prescriptive Data, Inc. Welcome to Prescriptive Data

How much energy does a typical office generate? How about carbon emissions? Such measurements are baked into Nantum OS, Prescriptive Data’s smart building operating system designed for real estate. Because “the sky’s the limit” when it comes to building artificial intelligence, product professionals at the NYC climate tech company are encouraged to focus on emerging IoT technologies and ML algorithms. Most recently, these have included ease of use and utility cost reduction.

Inside Our Work

Seeing the forest for the trees

Cheng’s day-to-day work evolves as new information surrounding climate change comes to light. With that in mind, he has to be ready to tackle a variety of pain points, like the cost associated with reducing carbon emissions based on current legislation into the product. With a personal goal as tangible as preserving national parks for his grandchildren and their children, it’s easy to find motivation.

The software behind smart buildings

Using artificial intelligence, the core research team at Prescriptive Data is able to strategically break down energy-efficiency issues like tenant comfort verses energy reduction. Novel architecture allows Mehmani and his team to train and refine machine learning models to ensure across-the-board accuracy and energy reduction within buildings.

Head of AI & Core Research

In the future, AI technologies will not only offer the opportunity to significantly reduce energy consumption in smart buildings, but they will also provide a more pleasant environment for tenants.

Appealing to all users

When narrowing down a project, Zhu considers how Nantum OS will integrate with HVAC systems, utility meters and occupancy. She conducts walkthroughs and gathers data about the buildings’ mechanical systems to estimate a budget for software implementation. Part of ensuring the success of new projects involves educating customers on both the financial and environmental benefits of Prescriptive Data's automation systems.
