Lead design and modernization of patient-facing backend services, driving API-first and event-driven architectures on AWS. Improve reliability, observability, security, and scalability of communication pipelines (email, SMS, notifications). Mentor engineers, enforce API contracts, reduce tech debt, and partner with cross-functional teams to build secure systems handling sensitive patient data.

The Staff Engineer will lead the design and modernization of backend services, ensuring API best practices, reliability, and security for patient communication platforms, alongside mentoring engineering teams.

Handle inbound inquiries via phone, email, and chat; provide product information; manage and nurture leads in the CRM; follow up to convert leads into sales; meet sales targets and quotas; collaborate with the sales team; protect patient privacy; and support other tasks as needed while working a rotating shift schedule in a hybrid Vancouver role.
