Provides administrative and customer service support in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include order and data entry, contract reviews, job tracking, clerical recordkeeping, paperwork coordination, shipping documentation, inventory management, purchase orders, and communication with internal teams and customers. The role ensures accurate information flow and smooth work completion across Carbide Operations.

Apprentices learn manual and CNC grinding, blueprint reading, machine setup, machining calculations, and precision measurement while completing on-the-job training and classroom instruction. They grind carbide components to exact specifications, verify finished work with micrometers, calipers, and gauges, maintain material grade segregation, and work safely and accurately in a manufacturing environment. The four-year apprenticeship leads to a Journeyworker title.

Set up and operate surface and other grinding machines to manufacture precision components to blueprint specifications; select wheels and feeds, verify dimensions with precision measuring tools, perform machine prep and maintenance, and potentially operate CNC equipment. Prioritize work, read blueprints, and ensure quality, safety, and productivity.
