The Director of Marketing will rebuild and lead PayJunction’s account-based marketing engine across automotive and veterinary verticals. Responsibilities include owning marketing-sourced pipeline, partnering with Sales on lead quality, developing high-converting content and campaigns, managing marketing operations and attribution, leading go-to-market planning, overseeing positioning and competitive narratives, and hiring and coaching the marketing team.

Own PayJunction’s demand generation strategy across automotive and veterinary markets. Build ABM, buying-signal, lead-scoring, nurture, and multi-channel campaign programs; manage account coverage, budgets, reporting, and ROI analysis; partner with Sales, Partnerships, RevOps, and Content; and translate performance data, market trends, and competitive insights into qualified pipeline growth.

Leads a software engineering team while remaining hands-on in production Java development. Owns technical vision, architecture, code quality, Scrum delivery, production services, incident response, and PCI DSS compliance. Partners with Product on planning and scope, develops engineers through reviews and coaching, and manages hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and team growth. The role supports flexible remote, hybrid, or Santa Barbara office work for employees residing in approved states.

Owns the Payment Experience product domain, including virtual terminal, surcharging, tender types, and login/security. Develops product vision, strategy, roadmaps, backlogs, and merchant adoption initiatives. Navigates payment regulations, card-brand rules, PCI, ACH requirements, and partnerships. Conducts discovery, prioritizes work, collaborates with Agile engineering teams, and measures outcomes including revenue, adoption, retention, and deal enablement.

Own and improve PayJunction’s IT infrastructure, including Mac fleets, Ubuntu servers, AWS environments, networking, identity systems, monitoring, incident response, and automation. Build Terraform-managed infrastructure and data pipelines integrating MySQL, Salesforce, and spreadsheet data into a warehouse. Lead security, PCI compliance, patching, vulnerability management, audits, system migrations, and occasional help desk support while maintaining thorough documentation.

Own platform reliability, security, automation, uptime, and incident response for payment-processing systems. Build and evolve AWS infrastructure with Terraform, manage infrastructure as code across cloud and physical environments, containerize legacy services, administer Linux servers, and embed PCI DSS compliance through patching, vulnerability management, logging, and monitoring. Provide technical leadership and support secure infrastructure for analytics and BI systems.

Own and prioritize the Payment Experience backlog, translate initiatives into user stories and acceptance criteria, coordinate requirements across stakeholders and engineering, facilitate Scrum refinement, maintain ready work, communicate priorities, and measure post-release adoption and outcomes.
