Software Engineering Interns will build and ship a feature supporting Patreon’s creator platform. They will collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists, receive mentorship, solve technical challenges, and participate in team activities. Candidates should be pursuing a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, understand computer science fundamentals and data structures, and be proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Swift, Kotlin, or TypeScript.

Manage growth and success for a portfolio of 100–150 top creators. Develop data-backed recommendations, lead cohort programming and strategic sessions, support inbound questions, drive revenue and product adoption, identify trends, and relay feedback to product teams. Maintain documentation and collaborate cross-functionally to improve the creator experience.

Investigate suspicious accounts and customer contacts involving fraud, payment processing, and account activity. Use internal and external fraud tools to assess cases, recommend actions under company policies, and collaborate with Content Moderation and Product Support on account restrictions. Analyze and communicate findings, identify process improvements, and contribute to fraud-related projects while handling repetitive investigative tasks.

Sources technical talent for Engineering, Product, and Design roles. Partners with recruiters and hiring managers to define sourcing strategies, identify passive candidates, craft personalized outreach, build diverse pipelines, manage candidate relationships, track funnel metrics, and improve early-stage recruiting processes. Requires strong technical recruiting knowledge, sourcing-tool experience, written communication, organization, and the ability to influence hiring strategy in a fast-paced technology environment.

Design and ship end-to-end product experiences that help Patreon creators build businesses and connect with fans. The role involves solving complex product problems through research, prototyping, iteration, and polished execution. The designer will own projects from exploration through launch, collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Research, and contribute to product vision, design craft, and team collaboration.

Leads company-level strategy initiatives spanning community, international expansion, monetization, and growth. Builds rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses, sizes opportunities, develops recommendations, aligns executives and cross-functional teams, and tracks execution through shipped outcomes. Owns strategic narratives for All Hands, business reviews, and board meetings while translating company performance into clear decisions.

Provide high-touch executive assistance to the CEO and executive team, including complex calendar and inbox management, travel coordination, meeting preparation, expenses, offsites, board meetings, and special projects. Partner with the Chief of Staff and cross-functional stakeholders to manage business rhythms, track action items, coordinate events, and build scalable processes. Handle sensitive information with discretion while anticipating priorities and maintaining efficient systems.

Leads Patreon’s global indirect tax function, including VAT, GST, sales tax, tax returns, remittance, compliance, audits, controversy management, reconciliations, and reporting. Partners with Product, Engineering, Finance, management, and external advisors to design scalable tax processes, interpret changing laws, manage controls and reserves, and support global expansion. Serves as the subject-matter expert for marketplace and electronically supplied service taxes.

Lead Patreon’s Infrastructure team, owning its roadmap, execution, reliability, observability, incident response, on-call structure, SLAs/SLOs, and production readiness. Manage and grow engineers, including hiring, performance, and career development. Partner with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leaders to improve developer productivity and platform scalability. The role requires extensive engineering and management experience, infrastructure or platform leadership, cloud and Kubernetes expertise, and experience operating highly available production systems.

Lead Patreon’s Payments engineering team, setting technical direction and roadmap priorities for billing, checkout, payout, compliance, and payment infrastructure. Drive reliability initiatives, international payment expansion, vendor and build-versus-buy decisions, and cross-functional planning. Manage and develop a 10–12-person engineering team, oversee hiring and performance, and deliver reliable, high-quality payment experiences for creators and fans.

Lead a team of 6–7 product designers and serve as a senior design leadership partner. Stay involved in product craft through Figma, prototyping, or production code while collaborating with product and engineering. Drive distinctive consumer software experiences, build high-performing design teams, develop talent, apply AI to improve team outcomes, influence strategy across functions, and represent Patreon's design work externally.

Lead the technical strategy for Patreon's backend platform, managing scalable distributed systems, APIs, and infrastructure. Collaborate with product teams and mentor staff engineers, emphasizing reliability and operational excellence.

Lead Patreon’s compensation strategy, market benchmarking, total rewards and equity programs. Manage annual and mid-year review cycles, pay equity analysis, bonus payouts, compensation data and tools, compliance, reporting, employee education, and cross-functional partnerships with HR, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition. Coach and develop team members while ensuring compensation programs remain competitive, equitable, accurate, and aligned with business goals.
