Manage accounting functions for a portfolio of clients, including client relationships, teams, month-end close, financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, controls, and audits. Lead process assessments and modernize workflows through technology evaluations, system conversions, data migrations, automation, AI tools, documentation, and training. Serve as a trusted advisor while improving accounting accuracy, efficiency, and visibility.

Provides outsourced HR consulting to business clients, advising on HR operations, California employment laws, payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee-related matters. Builds client relationships, manages multiple projects and deadlines, communicates proactively, and works independently with Optima’s HR team. This part-time hybrid role requires on-site client work in San Diego County, reliable transportation, and preferably English-Spanish bilingual proficiency.

Part-time/contract CFO providing strategic financial leadership to client companies: oversee month/quarter/year-end close, financial reporting, audits, budgets, cash flow and financing, forecasting and predictive models, implement accounting systems and controls, manage banking and external auditors, mentor and manage accounting staff, work with boards, and recommend best practices to improve financial operations.
