Teams at Oportun

Owns the reliability and quality of marketing data, MarTech systems, integrations, tagging, tracking, and attribution processes. Builds validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and automation workflows using Python or SQL; troubleshoots APIs, webhooks, and data flows; manages marketing technology configurations; documents processes; and coordinates with Marketing, Analytics, Product, Engineering, and vendors to improve data operations and campaign measurement.

Lead the design, implementation, deployment, and operation of machine-learning platform capabilities. Build scalable systems for model serving, feature computation, data validation, workflow orchestration, monitoring, and production support. Own complex initiatives and investigations end to end, improve reliability and developer experience, mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and guide technical strategy while partnering with Data Science, Product, Risk, Fraud, and Engineering teams.

Operate and improve Oportun’s production data platform across Databricks, AWS, Spark, databases, infrastructure, and integrations. Responsibilities include platform administration, access governance, monitoring, incident response, automation with Terraform and CI/CD, database support, security controls, performance and cost optimization, documentation, and on-call production support. The role partners with data, infrastructure, security, database, and application teams to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
