Develop, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot Bash, Perl, and Python scripts supporting government satellite safety software and routine orbit screening. The role interfaces with satellite constellation operators, aerospace subject matter experts, and system support teams; prepares performance reports and management briefings; maintains technical documentation; and mentors junior and mid-level scripters. This is a fully on-site position supporting satellite operations across the lifecycle, including launch, anomaly resolution, passivation, and reentry.

Conduct routine satellite-orbit screening to identify flight safety hazards across satellite life-cycle phases. Interface with constellation operators, evaluate scientific data, troubleshoot system anomalies, prepare performance reports and temporary procedures, and brief management on space-related activities. The role requires adaptability in a 100% on-site operations environment and involves developing expertise in aerospace systems, orbital safety, and space domain awareness.

Supports space situational awareness and conjunction assessment operations by analyzing orbital and sensor data, applying orbit determination techniques, monitoring space objects, troubleshooting mission-system anomalies, and developing Python-based utilities. The role supports the 19th Space Defense Squadron, maintains operational procedures, evaluates surveillance data, and collaborates with analysts, engineers, and government operators in a classified, on-site environment.
