Teams at Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc.

Operate switcher tractors to move trailers between staging areas and loading docks, assist with loading/unloading (minimum 20% of weekly hours), communicate with dispatch, perform daily equipment checks and fueling, couple/uncouple trailers, complete paperwork, follow safety procedures and wear PPE, and perform other dock duties as assigned.

Provide administrative safety support: maintain accurate records and driver file compliance, handle traffic violation and drug testing inquiries, answer calls and emails, distribute interdepartmental communications, and store confidential documents.

Supervise dock shift operations to ensure safe, efficient loading/unloading and housekeeping. Manage schedules, train and coach employees, conduct daily inspections for OSHA/DOT compliance, operate freight monitoring systems, complete freight documentation, use forklift as needed, run daily meetings, and provide performance feedback and process improvement suggestions to meet service and productivity goals.
