Teams at Observable Space

Designs, builds, and operates hardware-in-the-loop test systems for spacecraft and telescope subsystems. Develops automated test frameworks, simulation environments, fault-injection scenarios, and CI/CD test integrations. Performs system-level validation, hardware bring-up, instrumentation-based debugging, and cross-disciplinary troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, embedded, and software systems. Defines test plans and participates in design reviews to improve testability, reliability, and system robustness.

Build and maintain operational metrics, dashboards, forecasting and capacity planning; drive continuous improvement; evaluate capital investments; shape operations systems roadmap (ERP/MRP); partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Sales, Finance, and Engineering to align planning and execution. Regular travel to Detroit facility.

Leads the design, analysis, optimization, integration, and validation of advanced optical systems for ground- and space-based telescopes. Responsibilities include optical modeling, tolerance and stray-light analysis, optical budgeting, architecture trade studies, optomechanical collaboration, STOP analysis support, optical testing, environmental qualification, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior engineers.
