Casual General Purpose Hands support safe ferry operations under the Master’s direction. Duties include handling deck lines and boarding hardware, passenger assistance, ticket validation, watch keeping, cleaning vessel areas, maintaining passenger safety, and selling kiosk beverages in compliance with alcohol-service requirements.

Manage the safe navigation and daily operation of a passenger vessel under 45 metres. Responsibilities include supervising crew, ensuring passenger safety and satisfaction, maintaining vessel systems and records, enforcing security procedures, coordinating emergency responses, conducting training and drills, and maintaining compliance with maritime regulations and company safety standards.

Maintains and repairs electrical systems aboard expedition ships and tender boats, including motors, generators, switchboards, alarms, communications, navigation equipment, batteries, air conditioning, refrigeration, and IAS systems. The role also resolves daily defects, conducts engine room tours, maintains technical manuals and drawings, and complies with vessel safety, AMSA, and Class requirements. Work follows extended six- to eight-week onboard rosters.
