Leads and develops a team of mobile software engineers building NPR applications. Responsibilities include coaching, hiring, Agile delivery, technical planning, code and design reviews, workflow automation, production incident response, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. The role requires prior hands-on mobile engineering experience, proficiency in native iOS or Android technologies, release infrastructure, Git, and Agile/Scrum practices.

The Petra Mayer Memorial Fellow supports NPR’s Culture News Team, focusing on Books We Love and the Book of the Day podcast. Responsibilities include researching and pulling audio tape, producing digital stories and reviews, assisting with long-term and breaking-news projects, writing headlines, selecting artwork, tracking diversity, and promoting content on social media. The fellow gains hands-on experience in public-service journalism, media ethics, audio production, and multiplatform reporting.

Join NPR's cross-discipline product team to build and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Automate deployments with IaC, administer Linux systems, manage databases and CDNs, optimize performance and scalability, maintain documentation, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.
