Conduct a 16-week research internship evaluating whether Earth observation foundation-model embeddings, including Tessera and AlphaEarth, improve Quebec tree-species classification. Build benchmarks, train and evaluate classifiers, measure performance across labeled-data volumes, assess mixed forest polygons, analyze rare species, and deliver documented code, a final report, and a team presentation. The role involves satellite and forest-inventory data, machine learning, GIS, and collaboration with scientists and data scientists.

Develop and deploy software for space situational awareness applications, including automated data-processing workflows and customer-facing tools. Participate in architecture sessions, code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement. The role collaborates with software, artificial intelligence, and astrodynamics experts to build production-grade analytics solutions using technologies such as Java, Orekit, Temporal.io, databases, and cloud-native CI/CD tooling.

Lead development of an Earth-observation image-processing pipeline, expanding it for new algorithms and larger data volumes. Collaborate with scientists and data scientists to translate requirements into technical solutions, deploy automated and on-demand satellite-data workflows, participate in architecture, design, and code reviews, and maintain technical documentation. The role requires ownership of the project, autonomous technical decision-making, and collaboration in a multidisciplinary English- and French-speaking environment.
