Teams at North Carolina General Assembly

Fiscal Analyst supporting the North Carolina General Assembly by developing and analyzing the state budget, evaluating program and policy impacts, preparing fiscal analyses, presenting findings to legislators and committees, and monitoring agency compliance with legislative intent. The role requires objective, nonpartisan advice, collaboration with state agencies and colleagues, confidentiality, and occasional extended or on-call support during legislative activities.

Draft legislation, amendments, and budget provisions; conduct legal research and policy analysis; interpret laws and regulations; prepare legal documents and presentations; support legislative committees; collaborate with legislators, agencies, interest groups, and legislative staff; and work objectively under tight deadlines across varied policy areas.

Conduct legislative oversight investigations for the North Carolina House Majority. Prepare members for hearings, obtain records and responses from government entities, develop questioning strategies, analyze North Carolina law and administrative code, and coordinate legal and legislative strategy with leadership counsel. The role requires an active North Carolina law license, strong writing, investigative or prosecution experience, discretion, and sound professional judgment.
