Teams at New York City School Construction Authority

Manages and coordinates complex school construction and modernization projects from conception through facility opening. Oversees design, construction, budgets, schedules, contracts, quality, compliance, change orders, claims, stakeholder communications, and field issue resolution. Reviews technical documents, negotiates with contractors, advises senior management, and mentors junior project officers while ensuring safe, timely, code-compliant project delivery.

Participate in paid training and internship placements supporting minority-, woman-, and locally owned construction businesses and SCA departments. Assist with back-office submissions, including bid documents, payment requests, project schedules, change orders, and closeout documents. Complete graded assignments, practical exercises, and tests while developing administrative and business development skills for government contracting opportunities. Attend in-person training twice weekly and work at least 20 hours per week during the internship placement.

Lead façade design and technical resolution across projects from concept through construction. Perform/oversee thermal and advanced façade analyses, develop typical details, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare specifications, conduct field testing and QA/QC, maintain façade standards, and provide training and construction phase support.
