The Senior Attorney provides legal guidance to the NYC School Construction Authority, focusing on construction litigation, contract and license agreement drafting, mediation, mechanic’s liens, legislation review, and project closeout procedures. The role represents the Authority in disputes, conducts legal research, advises senior management, improves compliance policies, and collaborates with construction, real estate, architecture, and engineering teams.

Coordinates in-house school design projects and oversees scope, calculations, drawings, specifications, design reviews, construction documentation, contractor submittals, site observations, field reports, and construction-phase progress. The role collaborates with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and government agencies; may lead project teams, supervise technical staff, review engineering work across multiple projects, and sign and seal engineering drawings.

The Management Specialist serves as the agency’s FOIL Coordinator, managing the intake, tracking, review, redaction, response, and production of public-records requests. The role coordinates searches across departments, monitors deadlines, maintains records, prepares reports and metrics, administers fees, identifies matters requiring legal escalation, and supports FOIL procedures and process improvements. Additional responsibilities include analytical studies, audits, resource planning, vendor coordination, management-plan development, and operational problem solving.
