Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes including invoice verification, vendor reconciliations, disbursements (checks/ACH/wires), monthly AP and balance sheet reconciliations, audit support, system support, reporting, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement initiatives.

Lead development and execution of integrated communications and earned media strategies for electoral, legislative, and advocacy campaigns. Manage media relations, crisis communications, executive communications, stakeholder outreach, and high-visibility media placements. Craft op-eds, press releases, talking points, and briefing materials; cultivate national media relationships; drive event and leadership visibility; ensure editorial quality and AP-style adherence. Support rapid-response messaging and measurement of campaign effectiveness. Frequent travel and extended hours required.

Short-term Fall 2026 internship at NEA headquarters in Washington, DC supporting education policy and implementation work. Interns will conduct research and data analysis, write and edit materials, track policy and legislation, assist with events, and participate in advocacy and partnership activities. The role emphasizes equity in policy, offers training in Microsoft Office and SmartSheet, and provides experiential learning through meetings, Capitol Hill visits, and organizational events. Interns work up to 20 hours/week and receive a $20/hour stipend.
