Teams at Mueller Water Products

The Mechanical Engineering Development Program is a two-year early-career rotational program covering product design, manufacturing, additive manufacturing, continuous improvement, validation and testing, project management, and sales support. Participants rotate through Mueller locations, receive mentorship and development opportunities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to process optimization and innovation. Relocation may be required, with assistance provided. Successful participants may receive a full-time role after completing the program.

Develop and implement manufacturing process control strategies and continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. Integrate and optimize equipment, evaluate new products and processes, conduct root cause and risk analyses, support corrective actions, and manage capital project scope. Apply Lean Six Sigma, statistical methods, PLC programming, robotic integration, and structured problem-solving methodologies to improve manufacturing systems and capabilities.

Develop and maintain embedded firmware for IoT water infrastructure products. Responsibilities include architecture input, detailed implementation, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, hardware-assisted debugging, BSP and chip-driver development, production troubleshooting, QA support, and field-release maintenance. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering teams, uses lab equipment and AI-assisted development tools, and participates in Agile processes.
