Teams at Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO)

Summer systems engineering intern supporting requirements analysis, system modeling, interface definitions, and engineering design decisions for large-scale electric grid systems. The intern will collaborate with product teams, architects, and operators, participate in professional development activities, and present project results at the end of the summer. The role is onsite in Carmel, Indiana, averages 40 hours weekly, and runs from June 2 through August 13, 2027.

Develop and support ServiceNow applications across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, security, and customer service. Build integrations using REST APIs and Integration Hub, automate workflows with Flow Designer and ServiceNow AI tools, and ensure platform security, reliability, compliance, and data integrity. Participate in Agile development, testing, peer reviews, solution design, production support, and mentoring junior engineers.

Design, develop, test, deploy, operate, and modernize Java/Spring Boot applications in mission-critical environments. Lead complex feature implementation, make technical decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and apply generative AI across the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include API and database integration, cloud-native development, CI/CD, automated testing, security, compliance, observability, and production support.
