Maintains a safe, welcoming museum environment by monitoring entrances, exhibits, and common areas; assisting guests; responding to incidents and emergencies; enforcing policies; completing incident reports; supporting evacuations and events; and communicating concerns to leadership. Requires professionalism, strong observation and communication skills, composure under stress, comfort around children and families, and flexible availability.

Welcomes museum visitors, processes admission and membership purchases, operates and closes the point-of-sale system, reconciles cash drawers, enters membership data into Altru, answers visitor inquiries, handles phone calls, and delivers friendly customer service.

Facilitate museum activities, lead safe and educational gallery tours, engage children and families, maintain exhibit cleanliness and supplies, report hazards or damaged props, and occasionally perform as the museum mascot. The role emphasizes energetic visitor engagement, educational programming, safety, communication, and positive experiences for children from birth through grade five.

Lead afterschool theater classes for children, teaching acting, storytelling, improvisation, movement, and stage presence. Create age-appropriate lessons, guide character development and performance preparation, direct rehearsals, support showcases and special events, and foster an inclusive environment that builds confidence, creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. Collaborate with other teaching artists on interdisciplinary arts experiences.

Leads hands-on visual arts instruction for K–5 students, teaching drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, mixed media, and creative design. Develops inclusive projects that encourage self-expression, storytelling, and confidence. Supports costumes, scenery, props, sound, lighting, stage management, rehearsals, showcases, performances, family events, and interdisciplinary programming. Collaborates with teaching artists and manages classroom activities across community school sites.
