MeWe is a privacy-first, ad-free social media platform with 20 million users worldwide and more than 700,000 interest groups. With an emphasis on community and a great user experience, it contains no algorithms, no spyware and no newsfeed manipulation. The companies guiding principles are defined by its Privacy Bill of Rights, which positions its product offering as a user focused alternative to “Big Tech” social who serve advertisers more than their audience. In 2022, MeWe doubled down on its commitment to user ownership and control by signing an agreement with McCourt Global to move to the blockchain via McCourt’s DSNP Web3 protocol. MeWe’s Web3 migration began in 2023 and by January ’24 it became the largest decentralized social media network in the world with more than 980,000 active users on the blockchain.
