Metropolitan Library System Benefits Overview

Leads the organization’s learning and development function by creating system-wide learning strategies, advising leadership, managing staff development programs, evaluating learning effectiveness, and aligning workforce capability initiatives with organizational priorities.

Supports library strategic goals by assisting customers and delivering timely programs and services inside and outside the library. Serves guests of all ages, with emphasis on adult programming, and helps build community relationships. The role requires public-service enthusiasm, diverse-audience engagement, and customer service experience. It is assigned to the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library and requires a specified Monday-through-Friday schedule.

Assists library members by issuing and receiving materials, locating items, managing accounts, issuing library cards, explaining services, supporting self-service technology, and performing basic collection maintenance. The role is part-time at the Downtown Library and requires availability for assigned weekday, evening, and weekend shifts.
