Supports payroll compliance operations by managing state registrations, employer accounts, workers’ compensation policies, business filings, and related lifecycle changes. Researches regulatory requirements, coordinates with government agencies, carriers, brokers, vendors, and internal teams, resolves operational issues, maintains accurate records and deadlines, communicates requirements to customers, and improves processes, documentation, controls, and automation while managing high-volume workflows.

Provides first-line customer support for risk-related actions, including account restrictions, closures, address updates, check requests, and business-structure changes. Collaborates with AML, Fraud, Sanctions, Onboarding, ODD, and Risk UX teams to manage handoffs, explain complex processes, escalate issues, and communicate operational updates accurately and empathetically. Identifies customer feedback and process-improvement opportunities while managing multiple risk-support workstreams.

Paid, full-time remote software engineering internship from January through May 2027. Interns receive mentorship and contribute to Mercury’s financial technology product through backend, frontend, or full-stack development. Backend and full-stack work uses Haskell and SQL, while frontend and full-stack work uses TypeScript, with React experience beneficial. Responsibilities include building customer-facing features, APIs, administrative tools, integrations, and polished user interfaces. Applicants must be enrolled in an academic program.
