Teams at Mercari

Develop and operate large-scale frontend products using JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, Redux, GraphQL, and related web technologies. Design performant, scalable, accessible, and cross-browser-compatible user interfaces; contribute to architecture and application improvements; use cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, version control, and monitoring tools; and collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams.

Partners with business leaders and managers across Mercari India on performance and talent management, employee engagement, manager coaching, organizational change, employee relations, and people analytics. Uses HR data to identify trends and recommend interventions, supports investigations and compliance, and collaborates with HR, legal, finance, talent acquisition, and learning teams to improve people programs and processes.

Leads technical direction for Mercari’s cross-border backend platform. Designs distributed Go services, APIs, BFFs, and multi-region systems supporting search, pricing, checkout, payments, and post-purchase workflows. Owns reliability, observability, safe deployments, and incident learning across multiple teams and external providers. The role influences architecture across India and Japan, applies AI and LLMs to software delivery, solves complex design problems, and mentors senior engineers and technical leaders.
