Develop, deploy, and maintain control systems for ultra-high-intensity laser systems and experimental infrastructure. Install and commission PLCs, motion controllers, DAQ, timing hardware, and safety interlocks. Build operator interfaces, automate sequences, troubleshoot during experiments, and maintain documentation and configuration management. Support facility setup, integration, and occasional travel for system commissioning.

Lead on-site technical coordination for installation, integration, and commissioning of PW-class laser systems and supporting infrastructure at ATLAS. Develop integrated project plans, resolve cross-discipline integration risks, coordinate Munich and Fort Collins teams, oversee procurement and vendor alignment, and manage project reporting to ensure facility readiness and alignment with design intent.

The Mechanical Engineer will design and optimize optical mounts for high-energy laser systems, ensuring stability under thermal, mechanical, and environmental stresses, using CAD tools and collaborating with physicists.
