Leads operations, technology, data, workflow modernization, and execution for Markel’s US Wholesale & Specialty Insurance division. Owns the operating model, IT roadmap, AI-enabled underwriting workflows, broker service, operational efficiency, governance, and P&L-critical initiatives. Builds and mentors an integrated Operations, IT, and Data organization while coordinating with underwriting, claims, finance, HR, and senior leadership to improve productivity, service outcomes, growth, and profitability.

Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle low-to-moderate exposure insurance claims by reviewing policies and documentation, determining coverage and liability, setting reserves, coordinating investigations, preparing reports, identifying subrogation or fraud, and communicating coverage positions to achieve timely, cost-effective claim resolution.

Supervise claims processing and adjusting staff, monitor performance, coordinate workflow, interpret insurance coverage, resolve escalated complaints, and support claim settlements. The role also assists with audits, service benchmarks, process improvements, staff hiring and development, training, account conversions, and product development. A P&C Adjuster License and state licensing eligibility are required.
