Leads strategic development and execution for the railroad commercial property underwriting business. Oversees underwriting teams, authority, profitability, growth, retention, portfolio aggregation, pricing standards, product strategy, training, quality, and account reviews. Builds relationships with producers, clients, internal departments, and leadership while identifying market and product opportunities. Requires extensive railroad or inland marine underwriting expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, 25% travel, and U.S. work authorization.

Deliver catastrophe modeling, exposure management, and portfolio analytics across Markel International. Support underwriting decisions through pre-underwriting analysis, risk reporting, aggregation management, and ad hoc insights. Build relationships with underwriters and senior stakeholders, present analytical findings, collaborate with global teams and model vendors, and contribute to portfolio analytics projects and regulatory reporting for Lloyd’s and the PRA.

Leads technology strategy, delivery, and operations for the Claims organization. Owns the Guidewire ClaimCenter platform, integrations, cloud adoption, application support, AI and automation initiatives, governance, budgets, vendors, and regulatory alignment. Partners with Claims executives to prioritize technology portfolios and deliver measurable improvements in claim outcomes, adjuster productivity, cycle time, and expenses. Manages multi-team engineering, configuration, analysis, QA, and offshore delivery organizations across the US and UK.
