Teams at Major League Baseball

Counsel will advise Major League and Minor League Baseball on domestic and international commercial activities. Responsibilities include negotiating and structuring licensing, technology, sponsorship, marketing, ticketing, software, privacy, and information security agreements; advising business and operational units; communicating with MLB and MiLB Clubs; and overseeing outside counsel. The role requires New York State Bar membership, strong transactional experience, excellent communication skills, and at least four years of legal practice.

Supports the Business & Technology Legal team with contract preparation, review, negotiation, administration, compliance and asset reviews, legal research, policy development, and departmental projects. The role collaborates with business units and external partners across licensing, marketing, technology, events, sponsorship, privacy, and other commercial activities while handling confidential information and managing multiple priorities.

Manage media opportunities and communications for current and former MLB players, including interview preparation, media training, publicity placements, and player activations. Build trusted relationships with players, alumni, agents, and business managers; coordinate participation in major league events; support alumni engagement initiatives; and relay player concerns to the Commissioner's office. The role requires frequent travel, nontraditional hours, strong confidentiality, and expertise in MLB and professional athlete relations.
