MAAC Project Benefits Overview

The Human Resources Manager leads daily HR operations for a multi-site, unionized workforce. Responsibilities include employee and labor relations, investigations, collective bargaining support, onboarding, compensation and classification, HR compliance, leave and workers’ compensation support, HR technology improvements, and supervision of HR staff. The role coaches managers, interprets policies and labor agreements, partners on recruitment, administers onboarding requirements, and supports equitable, legally compliant workplace practices.

Supports Head Start and preschool programs by assisting with classroom activities, child supervision, field trips, bus transportation, kitchen duties, cleaning, recordkeeping, safety procedures, and parent communication. Works with developing children and children with special needs across classrooms, centers, and bus routes. Attends required training, staff meetings, and parent activities.

Performs routine to moderately difficult accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, fixed asset and fund maintenance, budget analysis, internal audits, and providing technical guidance to accounting support staff. Works with other departments to resolve accounting issues and compiles periodic financial reports and special studies.
