The Mortgage Trader will trade and manage Agency MBS specified pools, TBAs, and CMOs; evaluate mortgage markets, prepayment dynamics, liquidity, volatility, and relative value; develop investment ideas; support portfolio construction and risk management; and maintain broker-dealer relationships. The role collaborates with portfolio managers and structured finance teams and includes regular travel to Boston, New York, and industry conferences.

Supports relationship managers and institutional clients by producing investment reports, portfolio review books, fixed income commentaries, customized analyses, and consultant questionnaires. Validates internal data, gathers information from investment and research teams, communicates complex investment details clearly, and improves reporting and client-service processes. The role requires strong analytical, writing, organizational, and communication skills, familiarity with domestic and foreign fixed income securities, and the ability to manage deadline-driven deliverables.

Leads a global portfolio administration team overseeing investment operations, derivatives and collateral activities, cash flow confirmation, portfolio accounting, reconciliations, reporting, controls, and vendor relationships. The role manages staff development, resolves escalated operational issues, improves workflows and data quality, monitors risk and performance metrics, and partners with trading, portfolio management, technology, compliance, custodians, and external providers.
