Administers employee leave and accommodation requests across multiple states, including FMLA, CFRA, disability, paid family leave, and parental leave. Counsels employees and managers, coordinates return-to-work processes, manages supplemental pay and insurance premium payments, maintains confidential records, and ensures compliance with applicable laws. Higher-level responsibilities include benefits counseling, issue resolution, training, open enrollment, audits, reporting, and benefits program implementation.

Conduct supervised experimental, theoretical, or computational research in lasers, fusion, plasma physics, materials science, radiation physics, and advanced diagnostics. Gather and analyze research data, document and present findings, attend seminars, and prepare a poster for the student symposium. Interns work alongside scientists at onsite laser and nuclear facilities and may have a hybrid schedule depending on assignment.

Graduate interns conduct supervised experimental, theoretical, or computational research in laser development, fusion energy, plasma physics, hydrodynamics, materials science, radiation physics, and advanced diagnostics. They gather and analyze data, support scientific research projects, document and present findings, attend seminars, and prepare a poster for the student symposium.
