Designs, analyzes, and optimizes industrial food and dairy processing systems from concept through commissioning. Responsibilities include process calculations, equipment sizing, P&IDs, proposal support, vendor and cross-functional collaboration, fabrication and automation reviews, customer-site commissioning, troubleshooting, operator training, regulatory documentation, and continuous improvement. Requires 20–30% travel, including occasional international travel.

The intern works under engineer guidance, follows machinery safety procedures, and may travel 10–15% of the time.

Automation Engineering Intern supporting quoting, electrical drawing interpretation, control panel assembly, PLC programming, HMI and recipe-screen setup, software development, testing, pre-commissioning, and onsite commissioning. The role involves configuring field instruments, VFDs, PLC I/O, and HMI clients; documenting code; troubleshooting automation systems; assisting with operator training; and following safety procedures. Candidates must be enrolled in an automation-related college or university program and have power-tool knowledge.
