KoBold Metals Benefits Overview

Design, develop, validate, manufacture, and deploy novel mechanical and electrical subsurface imaging instruments, including muon detectors and seismic systems. Integrate hardware-generated data with data systems and exploration workflows, manage system architecture and technical tradeoffs, coordinate internal teams and external vendors, and support remote field commissioning and deployment. The role also helps establish scalable hardware development processes while collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and geoscientists.

Develop and deploy mineral exploration instruments, sensor systems, data acquisition methods, and proprietary software. Integrate geospatial, geophysical, geochemical, geological, and geographic data; build statistically rigorous and physics-based models; identify ore-forming anomalies; and generate 2D and 3D exploration predictions. Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, geoscientists, vendors, and external partners to design field programs, deploy sensors, reduce uncertainty, and guide exploration decisions.

Owns production data systems end to end, including data models, ETL and API integrations, applications, platform maintenance, data quality, governance, and technical debt. Supports OPSDB and exploration operations, improves reliability and alerting, documents systems, collaborates with cross-functional and nontechnical stakeholders, and mentors junior analysts. The role also supports procurement and inventory initiatives, works with geologists, and requires occasional international travel to exploration sites.
