Analyze, optimize, and improve refinery production processes across distillation, hydro-processing, reforming, sulfur recovery, and related units. Monitor equipment and unit health, support safety and incident investigations, develop process controls and documentation, improve energy and emissions performance, and assist with turnarounds, project commissioning, startups, and process design reviews. Collaborate with operations, laboratories, vendors, environmental teams, and project engineering to improve performance, compliance, and reliability.

Performs laboratory testing and analysis of refinery materials and products using ASTM and related methods. Operates, maintains, calibrates, and verifies laboratory instruments; manages results in LIMS; maintains testing records; supports quality control requirements; handles samples and hazardous materials safely; manages supplies; and communicates results to refinery operations, engineering, and laboratory teams. Works rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed.

Oversee the refinery’s Process Safety Management and Risk Management Programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Lead hazard assessments, audits, incident investigations, emergency response planning, training, documentation, corrective actions, and process safety improvement initiatives. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams while engaging with regulators. Manage the Process Safety department, including Process Safety Advisors and Coordinators.
