Teams at Kentucky Derby Museum

Develops, designs, fabricates, installs, and maintains on-site and traveling museum exhibits. Collaborates on artifact selection, interpretation, exhibit evaluation, technology implementation, vendor coordination, and budget administration. Uses design software, fabrication tools, exhibit lighting, and environmental control applications. The role also manages departmental projects, maintains existing exhibits, and supports seasonal museum operations.

Supports museum education initiatives through outreach visits, field trips, virtual outreach, and delivery of K-12 and adult educational programs. Develops curriculum-aligned programming, conducts field research and professional development, participates in departmental meetings, and assists with daily program management. The role requires strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills, along with customer service and the ability to work in active museum environments.

Provides engaging visitor experiences at the Kentucky Derby Museum through guided walking and driving tours, gallery talks, educational programming, special events, and guest interactions. Maintains tour vehicles, supports school and group visits, collaborates with events teams, and delivers exceptional customer service. Requires strong public speaking, Derby history interest, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, weekend and seasonal availability, and the ability to conduct multiple tours daily in varied weather conditions.
