Conduct social science research to evaluate AI and machine learning systems, especially speech, text, and translation technologies serving Indian communities. Apply qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods; support focus groups and field visits; develop evaluation methodologies; investigate impacts in rural and low-resource contexts; and collaborate with engineers on AI development and testing pipelines.

Analyze operational and product data, identify trends and improvement opportunities, and support strategic initiatives through research, quantitative analysis, modeling, and structured problem-solving. Own measurement for product initiatives, build dashboards and decision-support tools, define and track KPIs, and turn ambiguous questions into actionable recommendations. Partner cross-functionally from problem definition through execution while working closely with leadership and operating with high autonomy.

Conduct quantitative research, develop socioeconomic indices, estimate impacts using RCT and quasi-experimental methods, calculate sample sizes, design surveys, validate datasets, and combine qualitative and quantitative methods. Manage internal monitoring by developing KPIs with cross-functional teams, consolidating datasets in Excel, creating basic visualizations, and supporting data integration. The role also requires understanding development-sector and poverty-related issues, with SQL, NLP, and publication experience preferred.
